11.00 am –1.00 pm: Panoramic and comparative tasting of Châteaux La Mission Haut-Brion and Haut-Brion, Grands Crus of Pessac-Léognan

A workshop co-led by Jean-Philippe Delmas, Deputy Managing Director for Wines and Estates at Domaine Clarence Dillon, and Jean-Marc Quarin.

«Ever since the La Mission Haut-Brion estate passed into the hands of its legendary neighbour, Château Haut-Brion, in 1983, the question of the origins of their differences in flavour has resurfaced. The mystery deepens when an examination of the soils reveals no discernible differences between the two estates. Accompanied by Jean-Philippe Delmas, who succeeded his father and grandfather as director of Haut-Brion, we shall marvel at these differences as we taste a selection of young and more mature wines, in the hope of discerning their respective identities. On this journey steeped in history, knowledge, legends and the emotions evoked by taste, I hope that each of you, whether you prefer one or the other of these two crus – or both – will discover the pleasures that delight you most.» Jean-Marc Quarin

3:00–4:00 p.m.: Wine Glass Experience by Riedel

Workshop led by the Riedel France team.

An exclusive tasting experience to discover how the shape of the glass influences the perception of wine and enhances its aromas, balance, texture, and finish, through a tasting using glasses from the RIEDEL Veloce collection. This experience will also be an opportunity to highlight the art of decanting. Through four wines, you’ll discover different techniques tailored to their age and profile: decanting older wines and “shot decanting” younger wines, allowing for rapid and intense oxygenation of the wine. A sensory, educational, and convivial experience to better understand the importance of choosing the right glass, as well as when and how to decant a wine.
